| Priority Documents No Longer Required betwen KIPO and EPO |
2007-08-22 |
KIPO announced that an applicant will be no longer requireed to submit priority documents between EPO and KIPO. Priority documents will be exchanged online between the patent ofices.
KIPO had started to exchange priority documents through online with the Japan Patent Office (JPO) from August 2002. It has been successful. Using the online system, applicants who wish to claim priority between KIPO and EPO can simply indicate the priority number in a patent application. KIPO and EPO will locate the priority documents on behalf of the applicant. This practice will improve the service quality and certainly save relevant costs.
